Biotechnology in Panama
Biotechnology is based on the use of technology for the utilization of the mechanisms and biological interactions of living organisms, especially unicellular by a multidisciplinary field. Biology and microbiology are the basic science of biotechnology because they provide essential tools for understanding microbial mechanical at first instance.
New techniques used in biotechnology are aimed at developing new food choices, creating drugs and vaccines against countless diseases, as well as the molecular study of different groups of organisms.
Currently Panama is benefiting from the establishment of EJF Laboratories S.A., because it is a company dedicated to the production of biologics (vaccines) for veterinary use.
Being the first laboratory of its kind in Isthmian soil has a great impact for Panama and Central America. Mainly because there will be a significant transfer of knowledge and experience to professionals and Panamanian scientists who aspire to work and develop in a laboratory that is in constant use of biotechnology.
