The Latin American Poultry Association (ALA) has organized a poultry webinar for 2021: The Latin American poultry industry and animal welfare.
The current pandemic by COVID-19 has generated opportunities to promote virtual talks and online conferences on the poultry sector. In the poultry industry, updating and training exercises are important to face upcoming challenges. These events have been developed through initiatives such as poultry webinars.
The Latin American Poultry Association (ALA) this year has celebrated 51 years since its creation. It was founded by entrepreneurs who thought of an organization that would build proposals for the poultry sector in the Latin American region.
This new Webinar organized by the ALA will deal with topics about the Latin American poultry industry and animal welfare.
Topics of the ALA Poultry Webinar
Within the agenda published for this 2021 poultry webinar of the ALA are conferences on different topics related to the Latin American poultry industry and animal welfare. On May 13, the Webinar will present conference of experts from three countries: Dr. Rebeca Zamora (Costa Rica), Dr. Santiago Avendaño (Scotland, Aviagen), and Dr. David Cavero (Germany, H&N International). For this day, the ALA Webinar will have lectures on the following topics:
- World Animal Welfare Legislation.
- The challenge of adapting the meat breeds to current animal welfare legislation.
- Challenges in adapting posture breeds to existing animal welfare legislation.
On the other hand, on May 14, this poultry webinar organized by the ALA will have a panel of experts from multiple areas of poultry production who will share their experiences with the public. This day’s lectures will be given by experts such as Dr. Vincent Guyonnet (Canada) and Dr. Kate Barger (the USA, Director of Animal Welfare of COBB). In addition, Agricultural Engineer María del Mar Fernández Poza (Spain), Dra. Maru Ibarburu (USA) and Dr. Javier César Prida (Argentina).
The themes prepared for this second day of the ALA poultry webinar are:
- Differences between cage productions and cage-free productions.
- Improving animal welfare: the importance of measuring, monitoring, and managing results in broiler chicken.
- Round table on the production, placing on the market of eggs produced in cage-free systems

How to participate in this ALA Webinar?
This 2021 ALA poultry webinar on the Latin American poultry industry and animal welfare will take place between Thursday, May 13, and Friday, May 14 this year. The broadcast time will be 12:00PM
This poultry webinar will be live on the Youtube channel of the Latin American Poultry Association (ALA). Therefore, it will not have any cost and do not require prior registration.
The ALA Webinar will begin with a welcome speech by the president of the Latin American Poultry Association, Eng. Luis Eduardo Valle Coello.
