OVUM 2022 successfully concluded in Honduras
The Latin American Poultry Congress OVUM 2022 ended successfully in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.

The Latin American Poultry Congress OVUM 2022 is a meeting that brings together the leading exponents of the poultry sector in the region. In this XXVII edition of OVUM, the congress was held from September 6 to 9 in the city of San Pedro Sula, Honduras. The organization of this event in each edition is led by the Latin American Poultry Association (ALA).
The venue that welcomed 3500 people from 58 countries of the world was the Exhibition Center of the Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Cortes (CCIC). These representatives were located along 130 stands where they exchanged products, ideas, contacts, and opportunities for the sector. In addition, the congress featured 55 world-class exhibitors who addressed updates, perspectives, and experiences on the poultry industry.
OVUM 2022, an event of global importance, included an inaugural session with the participation of representatives of institutions from the different participating governments, international organizations, and producer associations, among others.
The event’s organizers acknowledged the role played by the global poultry industry in the food security of the world and the Latin American region. Likewise, the leading role played by poultry farming during the pandemic to supply the demand for food and poultry products to the population of Latin America was highlighted.
During the Latin American Poultry Congress, conferences were held that demonstrated the contribution made by the poultry sector in the generation of employment in the countries of the region and their prosperity through the strengthening of the industry.
On the other hand, the event emphasized the importance of sustainability in the present and future of poultry farming, which is why the contribution of different professionals, companies, and organizations to achieve this goal is of special interest.
What were the activities of OVUM 2022
OVUM 2022 included academic spaces such as workshops that allowed participants and attendees to strengthen the management of poultry infectious diseases and improvements in production.

It is worth mentioning the spaces organized within OVUM 2022 for cultural exchange based on the gastronomy of the region where chicken meat is an essential ingredient.
Finally, the organizers of OVUM 2022 awarded prizes in different categories to companies, associations, and professionals dedicated to the poultry industry for their notable contributions and advances in improving the sector.
