November, 11th 2010, the BIOVET International Simposium 2010, took place in the  Salón Panamericano of the Riande Airport Hotel  in the city of Panamá.

The Simposium was opened by Dr. Vega from MIDA (Ministry of Agricultural Development in Panama Republic), that was divides in three sessions:

– Scientific session, moderated by  Dr. Eduard Torres
– Session about methodology, moderated by Dr. Enzo Rodríguez
– Commercial session, moderated by  Dr. Ethiel Corces

Technicians  from Panamá, Colombia, México, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Perú, Argentina and Europe assisted to the Simposium.

Some of the treated topics were Techniques for the evaluation of efficacy of mycotoxins binders in vivo and in vitro, In vivo assays about the multifunctional additives of efficacy  and Antibiotics substitution by the use of plant extracts acting at intestinal level to achieve residues free productions in poultry, pigs and shrimps.
 
Finally the  BIOVET 2010 Awards were conceded  in two categories: Commercial development and Technical development.

The International visitors participated in the Poultry National Meeting of Panamá, celebrated in November 12th.
