The Brazilian Union of Poultry Farming will promote chicken meat from Brazil during Football World Cup in South Africa By: Dra. Liliana Revolledo
The Brazilian Union of Poultry Farming (Ubabef), jointly with the Brazilian Agency promoter of International Trade (Apex Brazil), will promote the chicken meat of Brazilian origin during the Football World Cup which is currently being held in South Africa.
Among the scheduled activities, to achieve this goal, it will be carried out a degustation of dishes prepared with chicken meat in a famous franchise of restaurants in Johannesburg. It is foreseen to consume a tone of chicken meat during the World Cup.
Another activity, which will be carried out, will be the distribution of yellow shirts with the logo “Brazilian Chicken” including a sentence that will give a welcome for the World Cup 2014 which will be held in Brazil. It has also been foreseen the delivery of brochures with information about the Brazilian chicken meat.
Since 2004, Brazil is the largest chicken meat exporter in the world, and this activity of promotion has been designed due to a forecasted increase of feed consume in Africa. According the Ubabef, it will be one of the priorities in the following years as the African market overtook the EU within January-April 2010 as the third largest importer of Brazilian chicken meat.
