Mucormycosis in the ileocecal valves: This avian mycosis is caused by fungi of the Mucor genre (Rhizopus y Mucor). They grow in the lymphatic intestinal tissues, such as the Peyer patches and the ileocecal valves. They alter the functioning of these lymphatic formations and have important consequences for general and intestinal animal health. The excessive use of antibiotics or the presence of these fungi in the feed lead to the apparition of this pathology.
