Hepatitis by Shigella: Shigella infection follows the same pattern as Salmonella infection. Transmission is vertical through the yolk (anatomical proximity between liver and ovary), and causes enteritis and cantonment in the bile ducts (as white dots).

The prevention should begin in the first ages with intestinal biocides (cimenol ring), and treatment in more advanced ages (layers and breeders), with antibiotics that complete the enterohepatic cycle (beta-lactams and quinolones).
