Friable liver in layers: This is common alteration in hens. Some of the most usual causes are hyperenergetic diets, some bacterial toxins or poor quality ingredients in the diet. In this sense, the inclusion of poor quality fishmeal or raw materials with antinutritional factors in diet, can leat to excessive microbial growth that produces toxins that damage the liver as seen in the image.
