Eye lesion in broiler

This type of lesion is common in broiler and it is usually related to Salmonella or Aspergillus. Both microorganisms cause conjunctivitis; in the case of Aspergillus, birds show itching, while Salmonella causes corneal opacity and blindness. The presence and type of nodules in lungs is essential for the differential diagnosis: Salmonella forms biconcave nodules, whereas Aspergillus ones are spherical.
