Effect of intestinal conditioner pronutrients compared and combined with butyrate in broilers
This trial evaluated the effect on productive parameters of the use of intestinal conditioner pronutrients, whether alone or in combination with butyrate.

This trial evaluated the effect on productive parameters of the use of intestinal conditioner pronutrients, whether alone or in combination with butyrate.
EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN
A total of 320 broilers of Vencobb 430 breed were used for this trial. Length of the trial was of 35 days, the same duration as the complete cycle of the broilers.
Animals were distributed in 4 groups of 80 broilers each:
- GROUP 1, CONTROL: Animals fed a standard basal diet (SBD).
- GROUP 2, CONDITIONER: SBD + Intestinal conditioner (0.5 kg/t).
- GROUP 3, BUTYRATE: SBD + Butyrate (0.3 kg/t).
- GROUP 4, COND + BUT: SBD + Intestinal conditioner (0.5kg/t) + Butyrate (0.3 kg/t).
RESULTS
As shown in the chart below, groups fed the conditioner (groups 2 and 4) obtained better weight, either alone (+3%) or combined with butyrate (+3.9%), whilethe group fed butyrate alone (3) obtained the worst weight.
The group fed the conditioner combined with butyrate (4) showed the highest feed intake, while groups fed conditioner (2) and butyrate (3) alone are the ones consuming less feed.
Group 2, which received intestinal conditioner pronutrients, had the best feed conversion rate, which was a 4.8% lower than control group and 3.55% lower than butyrate group. Group 4, combining intestinal conditioners with butyrate, also obtained better FCR results than control group and group 2 receiving only butyrate.
The group fed the conditioner (2) also achieved the highest survival rate, which was 7.4% higher than control, and the best efficiency index (+61.5 points compared to control group and +43.3 points compared to butyrate group).
CONCLUSIONS
The positive effect of intestinal conditioner pronutrients was higher than the effect of butyrate on productive parametres of broilers.
In addition, this trial demonstrates that the intestinal conditioner can be used combined with butyrate without negative interaction.
If results obtained are extrapolated to one million birds, the following would be observed:
Intestinal conditioner pronutrients are marketed as “Alquernat Nebsui”.
