PRESERVATIVES AND MYCOTOXINS BINDERS
Microorganisms can segregate, depending on capacity and environmental conditions, toxins that remain in the cereal even if the microorganism has disappeared...

(1) Cereals can become contaminated in the crops, mainly, with microorganisms from the soil and air(field flora).
(2) During collection, transportation, stocking and shipping to the feed factory, other microorganisms (intermediate flora) may be incorporated, in addition to split grains and dust from their content.
(3) So, the factory receives grain, broken grain, dust and intermediate flora.it can increase with microorganisms in the installation, transforming the flora into storage flora.
(4) If this material is stored for a long time, the storage flora evolves, due to the death of some species of microorganisms and the proliferation of others, giving rise to aging flora.
(5) Microorganisms can segregate, depending on capacity and environmental conditions, toxins that remain in the cereal even if the microorganism has disappeared.
(6) The manufacturer needs to establish a cereal handling protocol that guarantees the safety and quality of the final feed:
6.1 separation of dust, separation of broken grain and whole grain
6.2 incorporation of preservatives inhibitors or eliminators of microorganisms
6.3 incorporation of microbial toxin binders
(7) In the decade of 1890, the investigation of preservatives, started observing the behavior of vegetables, and even ancestral practices of the human species. thus, some researchers observed that many plants produced substances that protected them from attack by field microorganisms and concluded that they were natural phenolic compounds. Instead, other researchers observed that fermented fruits become vinegar, which could be used as an antimicrobial, and concluded that they were weak organic acids.
(8) In the 1980s, the investigation of toxin binders, started by observing the affected birds, which present malacia or behavior of eating strange and improper things such as feathers, sand, wood or charcoal and concluded that they were productswhich contained derivatives of silica and polymers of carbon.
(9) Biovet researched the ALQUERMOLD™ line of preservatives in two stages. The first based on the synergic association of salts of two organic acids, with 1 and 6 carbon chains, giving rise to ALQUERMOLD PREMIX AND ALQUERMOLD LIQUIDO. The second based on vegetable extracts valued in a natural phenol, called cimenol, giving rise to ALQUERMOLD NATURAL PREMIX AND ALQUERMOLD NATURAL LIQUID.
(10) At Biovet, a worldwide pioneering research was started based on silica minerals activated in two steps, giving rise to the product ALQUERFEED ANTITOX™ whose manufacturing process constituted the first world patent in 1988.
(11) Feed manufacturers also have access to dual purpose preservatives and mycotoxin binder products under the names ALQUERFEED BINMOLD AND ALQUERFEED ASINOL.
