Effect of the cimenol ring on production parameters in broiler
Under intensive breeding conditions, broiler chickens are exposed to many stressors that can affect their gut health and therefore their productive performance, such as high breeding densities or high growth rates. The cimenol ring is a natural aromatic compound obtained from botanical extracts, which has been shown to be very effective as an intestinal microbicide.

This molecule is able to control the growth of pathogenic microorganisms in the gut, improving the balance of digestive flora and the productive performance of chickens.
Objective
Evaluate the effect of the cimenol ring on production parameters in broiler.
Material and methods
The trial was conducted simultaneously on two farms located at 1 kilometer away.
- Control farm: standard farm diet without cimenol ring
- Experimental farm: standard diet with cimenol ring administered in drinking water using the following administration scheme:

The obtained results were also compared with those obtained in previous cycles on the same farm.
Results
The final weight of 2.987 kg obtained in the group supplemented with cimenol ring was higher than in the control batch, which achieved 2.769 kg, and compared to the 2.731 kg of weight obtained in previous cycles. These improvements are of 7.83% and 9.34% respectively.

At the same time, animals supplemented with cimenol ring obtained a better feed conversion rate (FCR) compared to the control group and previous cycles. In addition, the FCR adjusted to 2.6 kg, showed that the group with cimenol ring obtained a value of 1.648, while the control group obtained a value of 1.773, which implies an improvement of 7% thanks to the natural compound. The FCR in previous cycles was 1.735, which represents a 5% improvement by using the cimenol ring.

Regarding mortality, the group supplemented with cimenol ring obtained a 4.05%, while on the control farm mortality was 4.89%, very similar to that obtained in previous cycles, 4.80%. Mortality was reduced by 15.6% in the group supplemented with cimenol ring.
l

The efficiency index was significantly higher for birds supplemented with cimenol ring, which obtained a final value of 360.83 points, compared to the control farm that obtained a value of 324.12 points and compared to previous cycles with a value of 333.23 points.

Conclusion
The use of the cimenol ring in drinking water in broiler improves gut health, thanks to its gut microbiocidal effect, which is reflected in a higher productive performance.
Supplementation of this active molecule of botanical origin allows to increase the final weight of animals by up to 9.4% and, at the same time improve FCR by 7.05%. With these results we can conclude that the use of the cimenol ring would allow us to obtain, for 1.000.000 broiler, 236 t more meat and save 316 t of feed.

In addition, the use of the cimenol ring reduces animal mortality by 15.6%, thanks to greater control of intestinal pathogenic microorganisms. The effect of the cimenol ring is reflected in an increase in the efficiency index by up to 36.7 points.
The cimenol ring is marketed under the name Alquermold Natural from Biovet S.A.
