In this trial, performed in the Antioquia region (Colombia) from February to March 2018, the reduction of neonatal diarrhea in piglets was evaluated by comparing liquid intestinal optimizer pronutrients with Toltrazuryl.

EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN

Natural liquid intestinal optimizer was administered orally at a dose of 1 mL per piglet.

RESULTS

Batch treated with intestinal optimizer pronutrients had a lower weight at birth, but it exceeded the control batch by the end of the weaning period. This batch also had a reduction in mortality and did not show diarrheas.

CONCLUSIONS

The use of liquid intestinal optimizer pronutrients improved growth during the lactation period since it avoided the alteration of the intestinal epithelium and the appearance of diarrhea.

This product based on intestinal optimizer pronutrients is commercially available with the name of Alquernat Zycox, development and manufactured by Biovet S.A.
