Multinuclear cysts due to Entamoeba meleagridis
Intestinal amebiasis of turkeys is a dysenteric process that primarily affects turkeys on the first weeks of age. The most common appearance of the process is between the months of August and September. The microscopic observation of the mucosa and intestinal contents allows to observe cysts with 2 or 3 cores as shown in the first microscopic image with the ink, taken in 1975. This is basic for the proper diagnosis because sometimes Entamoebiasis in turkeys is accompanied by the presence of secondary microorganisms such as E.coli.
