Joint infection in broiler

This is a frequent infection in poultry. Initially, birds show lameness and even an inability to stand up. It is necessary to verify the origin of the infection. If the infection comes from the skin or footpads, Staphylococcus is usually the causative microorganism. However, if the infection has a respiratory origin, Mycoplasma synoviae or viral arthritis are the most common causes.
