Salmonella –  infection in pigs is mainly due to S. cholerasuis, S.typhimurium and S.thyphisuis and comes from diarrheal materials from other pigs, rodent excrement or contaminated food.

These are microorganisms that infect the cells of the mucosa causing inflammation and bleeding. It can evolve septicemic and toxigenic.
