Gangrenous dermatitis

This disease is also known as necrotic dermatitis. It is caused byClostridium septicum, C. perfringens type A, and Staphylococcus aureus. These microorganisms are frequently found in the farms, so the disease appears when several predisposing factors come together. In birds, it causes skin lesions in wings and cloacal area, which progress from small pimples to severe necrosis, that can even affect the subcutaneous tissue and muscles.
