Imbalances of the gut flora produce digestive problems that worsen productive performance and lead to the presence of clinical signs such as diarrhea, and even death.
Cimenol ring is a microbicide that can eliminate pathogenic microorganisms in the digestive tract of birds to maintain the balance of the microflora and, therefore, prevent bacterial infections and improve productive performance.
Aim of the trial
To evaluate the effect of cimenol ring, mixed with the feed, on productive performance and carcass yield in broilers.
Experimental design
Animals: male broilers raised for 42 days.
Groups:
- Control group: standard basal diet without antibiotic growth promoters
- Treatment group: the same standard basal diet 6 cimenol ring at 0.5 kg/t mixed in the feed during all the trial.
Standard basal diet did include coccidiostats to control coccidiosis.
Results
Feed conversion rate at the end of the trial was better in the treatment group, which obtained a 1.3% improvement, compared to the control group. Weight in the treatment group was also better, with 17 more grams per bird at the end of the trial.
Lastly, the treatment group obtained better carcass yield (+1.3%), which means it got increased by 1.7%.
According to these results, supplementation with cimenol ring at 0.5 kg/t in broilers could help a farm with 1 million broilers produce 17 more tons of meat and save 151.8 tons of feed.
Conclusions
Cimenol ring is a natural product with bactericidal and fungicidal activities against pathogenic microorganisms that, when included to feed for broilers, improves weight (+17 g/bird), feed conversion rate (1.3% improvement) and carcass yield (+1.3%). These improvements are due to a better balance of the gut microflora produced achieved thanks to the cimenol ring.
The use cimenol ring has been developed and patented by Biovet S.A. and is marketed in the product Alquermold Natural, available in premix and liquid.
