Transparency 50: The index of corruption perceptions 2015
According to the annual report of Transparencia Internacional, referring to 2015, we can observe in many countries that it has increased the perception of corruption over the last decade.
According to the report referred to Transparencia Internacional considered that: corruption in the public sector goes far beyond the disappearance of taxpayers’ money. “The corruption of institutions and senior politicians are feeding inequality and exploitation, maintaining wealth in the hands of small elite and leaving many people trapped in poverty “. In the transparency of VD we do not conduct general assessments about the transparency, but focus attention on the cases related to the agricultural sector or entities and institutions linked to it. However, the perception of corruption in our industry is similar to other sectors.
Many farmers related to the industries are threatened with continuity of their companies; familiar in many cases, by laws not adapted the reality of their geographical or economic situation. For the loss of annual income (39% annually in some countries) because of agreements with retail chains, the looting of financial institutions linked to the agricultural sector and in general to all an extensive network that puts the edge of the law many businesses or puts them at a disadvantage opportunities. And unfortunately the negative impact is mostly on small and medium companies that are “betrayed” by their representatives.
We may think that those affected companies can go to court and find out their rights. However, experience shows that the reaction is so slow, in many cases in past 10 years could not achieve judgments that recognize the situation. Consequently they end up with killing economic of the affected companies and prevent them to continue for so long with the activity or judicial proceedings.
The corrupt officials’ accomplice is not located or do not cooperate with Justice revolving the doors to political influence and transfers to international staff and end up with a hope of improving the perception of transparency.
In Veterinaria Digital we have presented the cases (see 49,46,45,44,30,26,22,20,17,16,15 and others) where those affected companies have appealed to the justice but until now have not obtained final judgments, after more than five years in some cases, in some cases the judge has made some gesture.
At the same time “presumed innocents” continue jumping from one public office to another without any shame or regret or to a public or private office, or a position in the administration of the state to a position at the university often with salaries from the state budget, which do not forget that are financed with taxes of the citizens.
From Transparency of Veterinaria Digital we encourage Transparencia Internacional to maintain their activity with the hope that someday the public, as well as the officials and politicians honored of each country wake up and face the reality of corruption in their countries and find a solution (real freedom of the press, public access to all budget information, truly independent judiciary integrity and ethics in public office) this scourge ruins the institutions with misuse of public money, It deprives them of productive private spaces or public works and deprives them of private rights against alleged general interest benefiting just another “private interests” linked with the power.
