The origin of swine salmonellosis usually comes from a primary intestinal or respiratory infection (S. pneumoniae) that can spread septicemic to other organs (eg, the pericardiumas can be seen in the photo) due to immunosuppressive factors (salmonellosis toxin, actinobacillosis or viral infections).
