Editorial 19: Haiku, aphorism, a third and a fourth.
A haiku of Matsuo Basho and an aphorism of Albert Einstein can help us to complete the needed reform of the “res publica” proposed in the previous editorial.
Matsuo Basho: said ” Do not follow the traces of the ancients, look for what they were looking for”. The first part can be applied to themselves those who, after new elections, acceded to the Governments plunged in the disaster by previous corruption and wasteful.
The second part is most difficult to apply, because we should first remember what the ancients were looking for. So the most appropriate should be to look for a model that made the citizens happy or the current equivalent of welfare state citizenship (not the welfare of some in name of the majority)
Albert Einstein said: “Problems can not be solved thinking the same way that we were thinking when we create them.” The sensation that is extended between the citizenship is that in many countries, elections bring a change of the government but no in the way to govern. In this way the new rulers act the same way that the previous ones what led to a exorbitant debt, high unemployment debts and a stifling interventionism of the individual freedoms (family, companies, communication media….)
So it seem that under the light of the haiku and the aphorism all correction may pass by electing a new kind of society and by reforming the government systems (national laws).
Maybe, we could act a third aphorism, less poetic and less scientific “ the new governments made the previous rulers to return back to the public coffers the subtracted money”.
This third could go together with a fourth “the new governments should no reposition the public worker that had relation with incompatibilities, nepotism and prevarication”.
Only in this way the haiku of Basho and the aphorism of Einstein; do not follow the traces of ancients, look for the welfare of citizens as the ancients form the town to help and Project each other and finally solve the troubles by a different way of thinking and using different people of those who created the problem.
The contrary is only to convert the new governments in accomplices, at the end, of the previous ones.
