Aflatoxin hemorrhages in calves: Aflatoxins cause coagulation disorders and liver toxicity. In calves that begin solid feeding, if there is contamination by aflatoxin, animals with pale mucous membranes are initially observed and, subsequently, high mortality. At necropsy, hepatomegaly and hemorrhages are observed in muscles and organs, such as the trachea, pericardium, and respiratory system.
