Evolution of H, He and HeH+. Science blog 119th
As in genetics, the primitive molecule of vertebrates’ DNA can be considered to be the DNA of primitive plants, once it has been deployed and duplicated (see Science blog 117th). In chemistry, it is considered that the Hydrogen atom is the primal material of the rest of atoms and molecules.
Thus, the fusion of two Hydrogen atoms produces an Helium atom – in the Sun’s core – and the fusion of an Hydrogen and an Helium produces a Carbon atom – in the core of stars greater than the Sun.
However, it has recently been discovered that, in addition to being fused, Hydrogen atoms can react with Helium atoms resulting in an ion called HeH +.
This shows that in both genetics and chemistry the same law applies: everything complex has started from something simpler.
