The proliferation of SH2+ Clostridium in the gut is favored by the use of meat protein with low nutritional quality or the presence of undigested protein. Microorganisms that are SH2+ are highly toxigenic and they can poison the liver, causing its fluidization because of the tensioactive properties of their toxins. Friable livers found in slaughterhouses are related to the use of low-quality protein meals.
