The Jardines de Murillo, formerly known as the Gardens or Huerta del Retiro, were part of the Reales Alcázares of Sevilla until 1862 when they were donated to the city to be part of the expansion of their traditional Fair that was then held in the neighboring Prado of San Sebastian.
