We renew Veterinaria Digital: handbook
The veteran scientific magazine has updated the web format to improve the design and increase usability
The online magazine Veterinaria Digital has launched a new site platform. In collaboration with a prestigious company specialized in information technology, we have updated the website to increase usability and improve design. In this regard, the current format facilitates the search of content and offers answers to the requirements of users.
For this reason, the actual layout of content is presented here and we encourage readers to surf the new website and send us their feedback through our social networks. The new menu of the web is: Home, Articles, Blogs, News, Agenda, Veterinary TV, Companies and Contact. In addition, the magazine also has a space for aphorisms (Writer’s Corner) and a sample of photos of the natural environment scenery and nature (Artist’s Corner).
The following scheme is a map of the web:
- Veterinaria TV
- Artist’s Corner
- Writer’s Corner
Next, we will explain what contents appear in each section:
It is the presentation of the web and it shows the way to access the different contents, in a very visual form. It is divided into different sections: Firstly, three perfectly differentiated blocks appear: Articles, Blogs and Latest News; Then there is a highlight of the Atlas of Pathology (one of the blogs that has the most visits); Below it is a section that informs you of the possibility of subscribing to receive the weekly newsletter; then the Events Calendar and finally, the Artist’s Corner and the Writer’s Corner. (Two spaces where readers can relax, discover new places and read quotes from well-known thinkers):
An extensive guide where you can read the topics of interest about animal husbandry around the world: physiology of the laying hen, veterinary vaccines, antibiotics and chemotherapeutic combinations…
At Blogs section you will find detailed information related to the poultry, swine, sheep, beef and aquaculture sectors. Blogs are written by our experts: veterinarians, nutritionists, researchers… Currently, the website contains 8 blogs.
“Editorial” blog develops the philosophy of Veterinaria Digital and collects the main ideas with which the digital and scientific magazine participates actively in the world of poultry and swine. In its posts appear ideas about social habits, breakdowns on actions taken and proposed reforms to improve the situation in the poultry, pig, sheep, cattle and aquaculture sectors. It is concerned about issues related to the health situation, cleanliness habits, vaccine selection, research, new technologies, agricultural and livestock reindustrialization, etc.
“Atlas of Pathology” blog addresses pathologies suffered by poultry, pigs, fish and cattle in farms all over the world, in a very visual way. Through high-quality photographs, it is a useful tool for veterinarians, veterinary students and veterinary pathologists. It also introduces the main approaches to spot more frequent diseases, describes pathologies and visualizes them with photographs. It is a precise and objective source of the causes and effects of the main diseases affecting the poultry, swine, cattle and aquaculture sector. The blog is directed by a scientific group of Biovet S.A. and sponsored by Δ’Labs.
Blog of interviews, conducted by the graduate in Journalism and Advertising, Maria Sabaté, to specialists from organizations (universities and public bodies) and companies from the poultry, pig, sheep, beef and aquaculture sectors. Through the answers of the experts in veterinary sciences the situation of the primary sector of the whole world is shown. Also, the interview allows a more agile and light reading, which allows readers (veterinary students, veterinarians, producers and distributors) to acquire both deep knowledge in poultry, pig and aquaculture, etc., and a global and current vision of the casuistry in different parts of the world.
Blog dedicated to spread of in vivo and in vitro trials mainly in pig and poultry. It shows the results obtained in the latest tests carried out to improve the nutrition of poultry and pigs and thus achieve greater welfare of the animals and greater productivity, through technical news of research and product development. Its posts describe in depth the functioning and mechanism of action of different natural additives such as preservatives, pronutrients, immunostimulants, enzymes, digestives, antioxidants and fat enhancers, mycotoxin binders, flavoring agents, multifunctionals, etc. Blog sponsored by Biovet S.A.
“In Memoriam” blog of Veterinaria Digital is a tribute in memory of the people who have dedicated their lives to the veterinary sector and who have gone down in history for their work and contribution to the veterinary sciences. We intend that its posts were much more than an obituary and serve as an example to future veterinarians and professionals in the poultry, pig, sheep, cattle and aquaculture sectors around the world. From here we encourage readers to send us to email@example.com, the history of deceased veterinarians and their professional career.
In this “Scientific News” blog we inform about the origin of life: how plants and animals developed and obtained the current appearance. We collect and develop ideas that arise when studying the current composition of living beings. From the theories of Oparin or J. Watson to the origin of the organs and their evolutionary importance, without forgetting the first vegetable and animal prokaryotes. All this together with the sense of the word disseminate: “to spread or give out something, especially news, information, ideas, etc., to a lot of people”, according to Cambridge Dictionary.
Blog “Main Pathologies in Poultry and Swine” addresses the main diseases of farm animals, in a didactic way and with comprehensive approach. It describes in depth the pathologies explaining: its definition; etiology (cause why it is contracted); epidemiology (incidence of this disease in swine or poultry); the symptoms (clinical picture and injuries); diagnosis, control, prophylaxis (prevention) and treatment. The blog is directed by a group of vets experts in poultry and swine sectors and written by Dr. Maria Soriano (Biovet S.A). The entire team of professionals specialized in Veterinary Sciences has extensive field experience, so their contributions offer a distinctive feature of accuracy.
Referring to its name, this blog wants to provide “public transparency” intending to talk about politics and administration related to the poultry, swine, sheep, cattle and aquaculture sectors in countries all around the world. Its symbolic author is Thucydides, an Athenian historian and army general who wrote “The history of the Peloponnesian war”, about 2400 years ago. In this book he refers to the balance between politics and society, that is, the common interests and advantages of a good political system, values that this blog of Veterinaria Digital also shares.
